Attendance

The school doors open at 7:05am

Students should be present and inside the building by 7:35am. 

Dismissmal begins at 2:45pm. 

In addition to completing the Online Registration process, the primary residential parent or legal guardian must register the student witht the link provided above. Additional items required to complete enrollment are as follows:

• Copy of certified birth certificate.
• School records or address/ phone numbers to request transcripts from the previously attended school.
• Immunization records or valid exemption form. *If transfering from another TN public school, a copy of the TN school immunization certificate or valid exemption must be presented to the school or emailed to the schools’ Attendance Clerk  at the time of enrollment. It is the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian to obtain a current TN School Immunization Certificate. 
• Two proofs of Residency.

• Students must be present 3.5 hours to be present for the entire day.
• Notes must be submitted within 5 days of the absence. Excused absences include a doctor’s note, funeral notice of immediate family, religious observances.
• 5 parent notes will be accepted per semester. 
• 10 parent notes will be accepted per school year. 
• There will be no changes made to a student’s contact information unless a parent/guardian comes into the Attendance Office and changes the information themselves.
• There are NO SIGN-OUTS after 2:15 p.m

• 3 Unexcused absences: (Tier 1) Letter sent to parent/guardian and student placed on attendance contract.
• 5 Unexcused absences: (Tier 2) Parent/Guardian called to SHMS Truancy Review Board.
• 10 Unexcused absences: (Tier 3) Parent/Guardian referred to District Truancy Review Board.
• 12 Unexcused Absences: Petition to Juvenile Court.
